Dad, when not maintaining this website or cooking dinner or playing computer games or posting on Twitter or researching the next essay he needs to write for his current studies – occasionally finds time to read a book. I’ve shown him in one of the lounge chairs in the family room with his back to Mum’s desk. He used not have a beard but came back from an archaeology dig in Vanuatu with it so I thought I should capture this avatar before it disappears.
I was going to do a more resolved background but Dad liked the cubism of the unfinished background so I left it at that.
i’ve been doing mainly landscapes lately so am doing a few family portraits to get my eye and hand back into portraits.
