This is a view of a small seasonal pond out the back of our place which, when full, provides a great little watery environment for frogs and insects. I love the way the light interacts with the reeds and distorts the reflections. On the day I took the photo for this, the blueness of the sky and swirls of clouds made the scene irresistible.
I was subsequently misguided enough to spend a couple of semester studying to be an art teacher but was fortunate enough to have a really great mentor at one of the schools I was assigned to get some initial student experience at. I quickly learned my mistake and am focussed on working as a full time artist but this painting became my gift for that mentor.
